General Info for All Smartphone, Tablet, e-Reader, & Mobile Device Users
- Connecting your mobile device to a UVa wireless network: At this time, most mobile devices are not permitted to connect to UVa’s encrypted cavalier wireless network—with the exception of iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches, which can connect to cavalier.
- Accessing your UVa email account on a mobile device: Given the appropriate IMAP or POP email settings, most mobile devices can access a UVa email account.
- Tech support for mobile devices: Because of limited resources, technical support is somewhat limited for
smartphones, mobile devices, and tablets (including e-readers like the Kindle and Nook) at UVa. For help beyond initial setup and configuration instructions, we refer you to your mobile device carrier and/or vendor website.
