Unified Build

Service overview
The Unified Build facilitates access to specific academic coursework-related applications used by faculty and students that may be installed on certain University computers. The build is provided with only minor customizations for different customers. Those areas utilizing the Unified Build are:
  • ITS-supported, technology-enabled classrooms – provides access to applications required by faculty for instruction.
  • Library – provides access to applications for students to use for their coursework.
  • Athletics – non-public labs that provide access to applications for athletes to use for their coursework.
  • Engineering – provides access to applications in public areas to provide a collaborative environment for students to use for coursework.

Available to
  • ITS technology-enabled classrooms: faculty and students
  • Engineering: Engineering faculty and students
  • Library: faculty, staff, students, and public patrons
  • Athletics: must be associated with the Athletics Department

Requirements for service
  • Classrooms, Engineering: active Eservices account and password
  • Library: active Eservices account and password; public patrons must obtain a temporary password
  • Athletics: must be associated with the Athletics Department

Fee
Common Good service included in school/major unit direct allocation.

How to get this service
  • Classrooms: reserve classroom through The Source
  • Library: available whenever library is open
  • Engineering: available whenever Rice Hall is open
  • Athletics: access granted through the Athletics Department

Support Response Targets
  • 1-hour response time from when support request is submitted to software team and within specified support operating hours.
  • For classrooms that are in use: 10-minute response time from when support request is submitted to software team and within specified support operating hours.
